I am joining Pathways and Real from Health New Zealand, where I have worked as a consultant psychiatrist for Rodney Adult Mental Health Services since 2014. I am a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) and also obtained an Advanced Certificate in Forensic Psychiatry during my training.

I have a passion for community-based mental health, recovery-focused practice and improving outcomes for tāngata whai ora. I am now looking forward to aligning those values with Pathways and Real. I am seeking to build on my previous roles in clinical leadership where I have shown my commitment to clinical excellence, quality improvement, governance, advocacy, workforce development and teaching.

I was born and raised in Auckland. I’m a graduate of Auckland Medical School and spent my early career in the Waikato and in Wellington, before moving to the Hibiscus Coast with my family. I am married with four children and, recently, have welcomed three granddaughters. I have an extensive music collection and also enjoy pilates, reading and history. I’ve also been a lifelong loyal follower of New Zealand test cricket.
