Pou Whakahaere Matua – General Manager: Central

Tēnā koe

Kei te Wairarapa ahau e noho ana
Ko Whibley tōku ingoa whānau

I joined Pathways and Real in 2022 as Service Relationship Manager in Wairarapa and was delighted to step into a General Manager role in 2026. What I value most is working alongside people who care deeply about helping individuals, whānau and communities thrive.

Previously, I spent approximately 20 years working in Correctional Services across frontline leadership, advisory, management and national office roles. That journey also took me overseas for four years, where I supported corrections development through a community justice model, an experience that broadened my perspective and continues to influence how I approach people, leadership and service.

When my husband, children and I returned to Aotearoa New Zealand in 2012, the Wairarapa felt like a natural place to put down roots. Having grown up in a rural community, I value the strong relationships, resilience and genuine sense of connection that rural life brings.

My passion for advocacy, inclusion and equity comes from a deeply personal place. A family member’s experience of disability and lengthy institutionalisation has shaped how I see the world and strengthened my commitment to supporting people to live well – with choice, opportunity and a genuine sense of belonging. As Tangata Tiriti and a Registered Social Worker, I am also committed to honouring the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in the way I learn, lead and work alongside others.
