Quality

Pathways' knowledge sharing framework

At Pathways, quality is integral to what we do and how we do it. Our dedication to the highest possible standard of service is encompassed in every aspect of our daily work. As part of this approach, we work to a knowledge sharing framework in which everyone has a role.

Our knowledge sharing framework:

  • supports a culture of improvement and innovation by tapping into people’s commitment and capacity to learn at all levels
  • supports people using our services, their family/whanau and staff in taking ownership of quality by sharing improvements, good practices and innovations.

Pathways recognises that collaboration and sharing are key elements of total quality management. We are committed to providing a knowledge sharing culture in which the people using our services, their family/whanau and staff feel included and valued. This recognises the importance of sharing knowledge, rather than just managing facts.

The direct benefits of total quality management are reflected in a range of areas including a high standard of service from trained, supported and skilled staff; a consistent standard of service for every individual; as well as key stakeholder participation in the planning, delivery and review of services.

Pathways is an innovative organisation. We're always looking to improve; always taking the opportunity to be innovative; and always looking to the future. Our quality system must be fluid enough to respond to this innovative character. There is no sense in a rigid policy manual that doesn’t change swiftly enough to meet emerging best practice, so Pathways constantly strives for an effective balance between innovation and quality.

We are constantly challenged and inspired to see ourselves through fresh eyes: we will always look to improve. Pathways’ national quality manager champions this process for Pathways, ensuring standards are met and that our policy systems are current and aligned to international best practice.

Pathways has certification under the Health and Disability Services Standards, and consistently meets all requirements of internal and external audits.
