Innovation
Daring to be different
Innovation has always been part of Pathways’ culture – it’s part of our history. We’ve always dared to be different, moving to a community-based service model even when large institutions dominated. Innovation is about doing things differently, things that make differences in the lives of people who use our services.
Pathways’ catch cry is ‘whatever it takes’. That means always exploring new ideas, giving things a go, sticking to what works and learning from what doesn’t.
Many organisations have their big ideas shaped by only a few people. There’s often a monopoly on innovation. Sometimes that translates to a major disconnect between what organisations say they do and what they really do. But Pathways recognises that, if we are to continue to create mental health and wellness opportunities that enable people to live their dreams and flourish, our team and our stakeholders must be with us on the journey. We want people to care. We want to see their ideas fly.
Rennovation days
We recognise that our future lies in the heart of our organisation – in Pathways’ people. So every three to four months, Pathways hosts regional innovation days, known as Rennovation Days. These provide an opportunity for people using Pathways' services, family/whanau and staff to get together to share information and ideas. These ideas help to shape and develop Pathways' services.
