Innovation
If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.
Innovation has always been part of Pathways’ culture – it’s part of our history. We’ve always dared to be different, moving to a community based service model, event when large institutions dominated. Innovation is about doing things differently, things that make differences in the lives of people who choose to use our services.
Pathways’ catch cry is ‘Whatever it takes’. That means always exploring new ideas, giving things a go, sticking to what works and learning from what doesn’t.
Many organisations have their big ideas shaped by a few. There’s often a monopoly on innovation, and sometimes that translates to a major disconnect between what organisations say they do and what they really do. But Pathways recognises that future innovation isn’t the prerogative of a select few.
At Pathways we’re careful never to let ourselves slip into an ideas monopoly. We don’t want to stifle bright sparks with restrictive processes or by saying “that’s not the way we do things”. We want people to care. We want to see ideas fly.
We recognise that our future lies in the heart of our organisation – in Pathways’ people – and to continue our success, innovation needs to feed from every corner.
