Family/whanau and friends
Family/whanau and friends can play an important support role in people’s journey to recovery.
Pathways understands to be supportive, family members and friends need to understand what is happening. We do our best to provide information and resources that may help. Check out our fact sheets for some useful tips and information.
As a person who supports someone with a mental illness, you have the right to:
- be included in their planning, delivery and review of services (if they’ve given consent)
- resources, support and information
- be heard.
There are a number of other ways family members can get involved in shaping Pathways' future, including:
- regional innovation days (knowns as 'Rennovation days')
- quality forums
- family surveys
- talking with us directly.
Hopefully our website answers some of your questions but if you have other questions feel free to talk with us.
Pathways supports the Supporting Families New Zealand’s Code of Family Rights. If you’d like a copy of this leaflet please contact us, or visit the Supporting Families website.
