PHACTS is a unique technology system developed by Pathways to record individual information about people using our services.

While the system records details about an individual’s diagnosis, treatment regimes and assessment, the primary function is to develop individual goal plans online and to work with people to track their progress.

PHACTS was developed after Pathways searched the world for an existing system that would meet our needs for recording information. When nothing could be found, it was decided to develop the software from scratch.

The development and continual improvement involved extensive consultation with people using Pathways services and staff. This enabled computer programmers to develop a comprehensive programme that met Pathways specific requirements, was easy to use and enabled to electronically coordinate individual’s service plans, doing away with bulky paper files.

PHACTS is now a fully integrated system, accessible across the entire network, with a large emphasis on security. It is also linked to the Ministry of Health’s MHINC (Mental Health Information National Collection) database.
