Pathways actively embraces information technology. We recognise a comprehensive information technology infrastructure is essential to delivering the best possible services.
Throughout our history, Pathways has invested in software and systems in order to operate a fully integrated support service and information retrieval system. If we couldn't find the right solutions, we developed them in partnership with Wild Bamboo, the Wise Group's innovative software company.
Our current information technology infrastructure supports our day to day work and our long-term organisational aims, by allowing us to:
- securely manage and share information
- record and report outcomes
- manage our key processes
- offer people using our services the opportunity to access and manage their own personal health information.
Key elements of Pathways' information technology infrastructure are:
Recordbase
In the early 1990s, Pathways began searching the world for an information technology system that would meet both our needs and the needs of people using Pathways' services. Finding nothing, we decided to develop software from scratch. In 1992 the system now known as Recordbase was born.
Recordbase is a unique and complete health record system which allows Pathways to record information about people using our services. While the system records people's individual details, the primary function is to document individual goal plans online and to work with the people who use our services to track their progress.
Recordbase is a secure, fully integrated solution accessible across Pathways' entire network. It is PRIMHD (Programme for the Integration of Mental Health Data) compliant, meaning it meets the Ministry of Health's national data collection reporting requirements. Since it was first launched, Recordbase has been further developed and refined by Wild Bamboo and is now available to other non-government organisations.

Recordbase Elite
Recordbase Elite allows Pathways to extract meaningful data from Recordbase for internal and external reporting, analyse service outcomes and identify emerging trends. It ultimately supports quality improvement and business decision making, which provides a more streamlined and responsive service.
MyRecord
MyRecord is the place where people using Pathways’ services can access and manage their online health information record in Recordbase. If they wish to, people can access their notes, enter their own journal notes and document their own journey. The system is accessed through secure login via the internet.
Promapp
Promapp is an online quality tool that helps Pathways better understand key processes, how these processes are being performed, who is responsible and what, if anything, needs to change. Promapp is used to help Pathways build foundations for innovation and improvements.
Kiosk
Kiosk, our human resources information system, is an online payroll and employee information management tool. It allows Pathways team members to self-manage their employee information. Each employee can access their information, using a secure login system, from the staff intranet.
Online resources
All Pathways employees have access to the Wise Group computer network, which includes shared file structures, staff intranets and external websites. Remote access is built in so that staff who are travelling between regions can still securely access all network files.
The secure, fully integrated network is designed to ensure information integrity.
