 | Paul Ingle Chief executive, Pathways and Keys Living Choices
As chief executive Paul provides the strategic leadership and drive of Pathways as a whole. And who better than someone who knows the organisation inside out - Paul started as a Pathways support worker before moving into management. Paul is also a director of organisations such as Blueprint for Learning, Mental Health Solutions and is a long serving Platform board member. "To be truly responsive to people's needs we must be prepared for our preconceived ideas of what makes an effective support service to be challenged. The poor treatment I witnessed concerned me and I left the mental health sector for many years. But the experience also fuelled a passion in me. I knew if I was to have a future working in mental health it would have to be with a contemporary and values based organisation. Pathways is just that. I really enjoy working for an organisation that focuses on community-based solutions and people’s real life journeys.” |

This includes identifying opportunities for training and development and ensuring best use of workforce development resources. “With a background in service and workforce development in the mental health and disability fields, the challenge of driving workforce development for a large, successful NGO is ‘a dream come true’! My job gives me the opportunity to merge a passion for recovery with developing our most precious resource – the workforce. I’m motivated by people’s ability to effect positive change in their lives and the lives of others - regardless of our job title we can actively support and influence people to achieve their dreams.” |
|

| Glen Simblett National clinical support, PathwaysGlen role is about ensuring, from a clinical perspective, Pathways' services are the best they can be, that the professional development needs of its registered health professionals are met and that Pathways proactively identifies and addresses unmet needs. “Looking back, I’ve always been drawn towards Pathways…I just didn’t always know where I was heading! As a teenager, I took up a career in medicine because I wanted to help people to live. As a naive, young doctor, my choice of profession as a psychiatrist was about trying to help people live normally. Now, as a seasoned, middle-aged father, my choice of Pathways is about wanting to inspire people to live well. It’s always been about people and life, it’s just that over the years the connection between those two elements has changed. For the better, I believe.” |
